Now comes the time for ORC to close a chapter. At the end of October, we had to say goodbye to John Mendelshon as he retires from being our Executive Director. A lot has been accomplished during his 5 years with ORC. But we will not reflect on work here…

Instead, we wish to express our deepest gratitude for his support and guidance. It must have required a tremendous amount of patience to deal with all of us, including 1 year completely cooped up on Ongava during the COVID lockdown times!

We want to thank him for having been such a fatherly figure for all of us, and for his humanity, kindness and understanding.

We all know that John is only retiring from ORC, not retiring period, and we wish him the absolute best in his future endeavours and his quest for knowledge and understanding! We look forward to seeing him again when the road takes him from Namibia to Angola in the coming years and hear about his new adventures!
